NORWICH - A car crashed headlong into a telephone pole on Main Street by Tracy Hall just after 9 p.m. Wednesday evening drawing a response from the Norwich and Hanover fire departments.
"I was in the parking lot of Dan & Whits and I heard it happen," recalled Norwich Police Officer Anna Ingraham who drove right over and called the emergency into dispatchers.

Ingraham said the man driving the car did appear to be injured but not seriously.
Ingraham added that the driver did not live in Norwich but does have family members in town. She said it was too early at the scene to determine whether impairment might have played a role in the mishap and she was headed to the hospital to conduct a follow-up investigation.
