A long-time employee of the Upper Valley-based Jake's Market & Deli stores is in the process of completing the purchase of almost all of the Jake's Market & Deli stores across the Upper Valley and beyond. Bruce Bergeron, who has worked for the chain of convenience stores/gas stations since 2008, will complete the purchase of the Jake's Market locations in Lebanon, New London, Georges Mills, Walpole, White River Junction, Hartford and Springfield later this month. He is purchasing the stores from Ed Kerrigan who opened the first Jake's Market on Mechanic Street in Lebanon in 1996. Bergeron is also in the process of completing the construction of additional Jake's Market locations in Canaan and Enfield.
Bergeron has lived in the Upper Valley since graduating from UNH with a business administration degree. He previously worked at Johnson & Dix Fuel Co., Geographic Data Technology and The Simpson Cos.
Kerrigan has sold the Andover Jake's Deli & Market location to another long-time employee, Jen Braley. He is holding on to Jake's Car Wash, the storage and truck rental business behind Jake's Coffee Co. on Mechanic Street and Jake's Quechee Market, and he is in the process of building a laundromat/car wash combination on Route 4 in Quechee.
