"Protector of Baby Sea Turtles!" There are few job titles that make you go awwwww...., but that's definitely one of them. It's right up there with "Lion Cub Cuddler" and "Unicorn Midwife". Kim Wenger Hall of Lebanon is planning to babysit some sea turtle nests this summer while on a tropical yoga retreat, so no one and nothing will mess with the precious eggs until the baby turtles hatch and skitter down to the ocean.
The baby turtle babysitting is part of a service-focused yoga retreat. After years spent dreaming of hosting such a trip in the Caribbean, Kim is making it happen. The service component to the trip (nest protection) couldn't be any sweeter, and the rest of the retreat at the Sansara Resort in Cambutal, Panama, from July 15th to the 21st is pretty sweet, too.
Yoga, right this way.
The yoga retreat sounds really grueling and definitely not for the faint of heart: group yoga classes, eating nutritious locally sourced meals, sea turtle "snuggle"-time, relaxing on the beach with optional surf lessons, and off-the-beach snorkeling 24-7.
Oh, the inhumanity!
Kim can't guard the baby turtles alone and is looking for 15 brave yogis to join her this summer. Beginning yogis are welcome and no prior baby turtle experience required. If you are interested in practicing yoga with Kim in Panama and helping the baby turtles reach the sea, please contact Kim at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
