A warm hello and welcome to the latest DailyUV blog, Whatcha Wearing Upper Valley?
Clothing is living, breathing art. It sends messages, implies ideas, and gives first impressions. Have you ever been walking along and noticed the fantastic shoes someone else has? Wish you could compliment them? Now you have a reason!
With Whatcha Wearing, I intend to cover everything from what people consider “clothing” to “fashion,” from street style, thrift style, to square off the runway. From local fashion designers to fashion shows and local "red carpet" events I'll be there snapping photos and interviewing you. I'll even touch on what it means to have a chronic illness and to want to look good.
At Whatcha Wearing, I want to see your refashions, upcycles, and homemade designs too!
I am hoping to take photos of people on the street* and their Outfit Of The Day (#OOTD) or their killer item (i.e., shoes, jacket, hat, hairstyle, tattoo), or have them send photos in so I can feature all the various styles of the UV.

With Spring in the air, I noticed this week many of us UV individuals out ready to feel the warmth. Lightweight jackets, sneakers - with only a little bit of mud on them... or maybe those were just mine - and t-shirts were everywhere midweek. It may be snowing today but it doesn't look like the temperatures are going to drop below 40 degrees!
Yes, we, staunch New Englanders, know that February and March like to tease us and that it can snow even in late April, but that doesn't mean we don't celebrate the warmth any chance we get.
So, with that in mind, what's your favorite thing to shed come spring?
- Boots! Free the feet!
- Giant coats! I can MOVE again!
- Gloves! What? I can feel again?
- All of it! GET IT OFF; I HATE WINTER!
Well, that would just be sad (particularly if you have seen "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar") because hats are for every season and making a statement, but still, winter hats, UGH.
