Mah Jongg, the Game of the Sparrows
Learn to play this Chinese tile game in which four players, in competition with each other, duplicate set hands from the Official Hands and Rules card of the National Mah Jongg League, Inc. Mah Jongg games can be found wherever one may travel. Many senior centers or recreation centers host games, as do friends and neighbors. Betting is an accepted part of the Mah Jongg game but is not allowed by OSHER@Dartmouth guidelines.
There is no required reading packet for this course. Participants must purchase the National Mah Jongg League’s official 2018 card from their website. This card costs $9.00.
