The case for hugs and the occasional kiss

While feeling horrible about Florida's school shooting I went to get the mail. And look what was in my box! On a really awful day, this tiny kindness made a difference. So much so that I took a picture for this very post. 

While the nice guys at my cell provider store were transferring files on my phone from point A to point B (don't ask, I don't get it either) they said how sometimes people come in and pour out their troubles to them. Sometimes nitty gritty stuff. Like they were tending cellular bar. Those people need hugs! 

I am blessed to have many people in my life who understand the value of a well-timed hug. It's a good thing, too--I'm a veteran hugger. And you can always tell when you've crossed into the no-hug comfort zone: awkward!! If it's true that we need twelve hugs a day for emotional growth, we better get after it. Or there's always the cellular bartender...
