Ah, February 1st, that magical time of year when a young man's thoughts turn to . . . all the home improvement projects one wants to accomplish this year. I know that's not exactly how the poem goes, but I'm sure that's what Alfred, Lord Tennyson really had in mind. He just didn't know it yet.
Feb 1 has always signaled the true start of the year in my book. January is a post holiday blah, spent scurrying around closing out last year's books, wrapping up loose ends, and hunkering down in the seemingly eternal darkness of Upper Valley winter.
Come Feb 1, the rebirth is right around the corner. Just make it thru this shortest month, made even shorter with the Super Bowl, a couple holidays, Feb school vacations, and before you know it March is here and we're off to the races- in like a lion, out like a lamb, all that good stuff.
So, today is the day. I know it looks cold and dreary and gray, but don't let that fool you. Spring will be here before you know it, so if you have something you want done this spring, the time to get cracking is now. The best contractors are booking up their spring and summer schedules right now, and you don't want to get left out in the cold, do you?
