As we continue to work to grow youth basketball in our community, I’m pleased to let you know that after the recreational season ends this winter, there will be the opportunity for more basketball. Hanover Heat has expanded to girl’s AND boy’s teams for grades 3-8.
The Hanover Heat basketball developmental program is offered to those ages of 8 to 17 who attend or plan to attend Hanover High School. The program’s goals are to develop fundamental skills, to teach the game of basketball, and to provide a competitive basketball experience.
As this is a travel basketball program, there will be tryouts for teams. Tryouts will take place on Monday, January 15. There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, January 7th at 4:00 P.M. at Hanover High School – Room 128.
Please go to the Hanover Heat website for more information on tryouts and the program: http://www.eteamz.com/hanoverheatbball
Playing travel basketball does involve a serious level of commitment and the competition level is higher than Rec. basketball. For those that tryout, but aren’t quite ready for a competitive travel team, our hope is to offer developmental clinics to improve skills. The availability will depend on numbers and gym availability, but our goal is to offer basketball opportunities for those that want it.
If you have questions or want to see what it’s all about, please attend the meeting on January 7th at 4:00 P.M. at Hanover High School – Room 128. The building will be closed so please park around back near the turf field. You can enter behind the school with the door by the stairs. We will post signs. We hope many of you will come to find out more about Hanover Heat and what they are all about.
