The 19 Days kicked off today, with angels on the bridge...they will be circulating in White River at participating businesses starting at 5pm. We poked around the general store to see what people were saying. A staff member commented that, as a general rule, people are a little more cheerful, a bit “jolly” during the 19 Days.
New decorations were de rigeur, and there were plenty of opportunities for people to show their commitment to this year’s 19 Days effort, from t-shirts to cookbooks to grab and go bags (the latter an idea from a Norwich resident) ready for delivery to the Haven.
Tomorrow, it's double-pronged action: From 9-1, it's the Norwich Boy Scout Troop #253 Food Drive in front of the general store. From 11-2, it's the Norwich Historical Society's Mid-Century Modern Christmas Open House on Main Street, where they are collecting canned goods for the Haven. See you there.
19-1=18 Days to go...
