Ended April 22
Sarah Strew
Does your child love birds? Do they love drawing and sketching? VINS has the class for them! During this 5-week class, participants will develop basic knowledge of bird anatomy and hone their observation and drawing skills. Each session will be devoted to a different topic related to drawing birds including bone structure, feathers, proportions and body shapes. Class will begin with inside work but will move outdoors when weather permits. We will use photos, mounted specimens and other artifacts, and live birds as models. The amount of information will be restricted to basics. Keeping it simple is key to creating a solid foundation of drawing skills. Class 1: Introduction, Warm-ups and Observational Work When it comes to drawing from life it is very important to first learn how to “see”. This is called observational drawing and there are many fun ways to practice it. Class will focus on warming up to improve the hand-eye coordination while “magically” improving observation
