Hello readers, I was not able to attend the recent book and music sale that was held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Upper valley on March 30, 2019. I reached out to Margo Nutt and asked her to send me some info and photos of the days events so that I could share with you. It seems like it was a very productive day. Here is what Margo had to report>
Demo, here are a few photos. I should have taken some when the sale ended and we boxed up the leftovers and reset the sanctuary for church the next day. Oh well. Next year. In addition to books, we sold DVDs, CDs and vintage vinyl records.

Here is a comment you might want to use in your followup story-- One of the volunteers observed: "To hear so many customers talking above their love of books, to see two 10 year old boys reading a toddler book to each other and loving it, to hear the hush and feel the absolute concentration of the dealers when they enter the floor, that is breath taking!” Another volunteer wrote, after the sale: "It was fun, I found lots of treasures and I was glad I was part of it!"
Setting up for the Book and Music sale
You could say it is overstocked and time to sell! sell! sell!
And take a look at them now. I bet you could say a few got sold today
Here are some statistics of how the day went. We had three days of receiving donations and setting up, we had about 30 volunteers (it was a great community building event); the sale itself was only from 8:00 AM -2:00 PM, 6 hours of intensive selling. Most books and music were priced at $2 and under. It took us three hours to box up the leftovers and deliver them to various non-profits in the area and reset the sanctuary for worship on Sunday. Rich Greenlee from Hartland, and I were co-chairs. Exhausting but fun and worth the effort. We agreed to do it again next Spring.
