MCS's Allison Litten Receives Distinguished Teacher Award

Allison Litten, the French teacher at Marion Cross School, is this year's recipient of the Distinguished Teacher Award from the Vermont Foreign Language Association (VFLA).   The Association gives the award annually to "honor an outstanding world language teacher in the state." The VFLA announce the winner of the award at its annual conference on March 12, 2019 in Quechee, VT.

On her instagram account, Madame Litten said: "Such a privilege to have been recognized as this year’s VFLA Distinguished Teacher. I would not be where I am today without the support, love, and inspiration of so many incredible teachers, and the hearts of so many children. Thanks to those who considered me worthy of this honor."

The Vermont Foreign Language Association website says: 
The VFLA presents the Distinguished Teacher Award to a foreign language teacher who:
  • is innovative and creative in the classroom
  • reflects on his/her practice and strives for professional growth
  • inspires and encourages students to become active global citizens
  • shares expertise with colleagues
  • exceeds professional expectations
