LEBANON - Police arrested a 65-year-old man who allegedly "walked right up to a woman and pointed a gun directly at her head" outside the Baymont Hotel on Airport Road early Wednesday evening.
Richard A. Stewart of Milton, New Hampshire was arrested and eventually released Wednesday night on personal recognizance by a bail commissioner. He is due to appear in Grafton County Superior Court on March 11th to answer to felony charges of reckless conduct and criminal threatening with a firearm.
Lebanon police responded to the hotel just after 7 p.m. and quickly located Stewart inside the hotel where they seized a loaded .40 caliber Glock pistol from him.
The putative victim, a 53-year-old woman, told police she was outside the hotel when a man, later identified as Stewart, approached her "inquiring as to the location of his wife" and then pointed the gun at her. She told police that Stewart appeared to be intoxicated, falling to the ground at one point while still holding the pistol before she was able to get back inside the hotel and call police.
