FREE $MONEY$ for NEW BUSINESS to move in here!

The Woodstock Vermont Economic Development Commission has launched a new grant program for new business owners in the downtown village area. The Retail Business Startup Incentive Grant seeks to attract new business owners to the historic downtown and to provide rental assistance, to help with the first year of expenses.

Woodstock is a thriving, eclectic and vibrant community home to many well-established retail, dining, and lodging venues. There are several storefronts in the village that have yet to be created into a bustling part of this community. The grant would offer two months of free rent to the new business owner. This will be so helpful as most new businesses have quite the expense list in their first year.

Some residents have their hopes of seeing a traditional barbershop return to the village, while others are hoping for a new venue like a child-care facility. I have personally always hoped for a new dining experience, Woodstock has pretty much everything when it comes to food genres, but we are lacking a Sushi Bar and a Mexican Tapas location.  I also believe that a Paint-N-Sip or Cork-N-Canvas venue would benefit the downtown area attracting people to stay longer and later hours in the village.
