Lebanon man arrested for allegedly trying to meet a juvenile in a park for sex

LEBANON - The Lebanon Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit reported arresting a local man in a park on Monday after he showed up for what he allegedly was expecting to be a sexual encounter with a juvenile.

     Nathan Malmquist, 39, of Lebanon had actually been chatting on social media with undercover Lebanon police officers who were looking for individuals seeking to victimize children, police said.

    Malmquist was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of prohibited uses of a computer service, attempted felonious sexual assault and attempted indecent exposure and lewdness as well as a misdemeanor count of attempted sexual assault.  

    Malmquist was held overnight in preventative detention and was arraigned Tuesday morning in the Grafton County Superior Court where he was held on $20,000 cash bail.
