The Valley News will close its print operations in West Lebanon after completing the January 31 edition. Newspapers of New England, owner of the Valley News, Concord Monitor, and three other daily newspapers, is moving printing to a new plant in Penacook, N.H., which is a village within the city of Concord, New Hampshire,
With the move comes "the loss of about 30 jobs in West Lebanon in the press room and distribution," according to a January 26 Valley News article. "The newspaper offered positions in Penacook to many of the employees, but given the long commute, only six have elected to make the move: four in distribution and two pressmen."
The move will cut costs for Newspapers of New England in printing the Valley News.
