After a spending a great weekend in Quechee, Lauren Parker called her mom – Linda Hicks, who was living in Chester, Connecticut – on the road back to the Parker’s home in North Andover, Massachusetts, and proposed the idea that they all just move to Quechee. It took a year to make the move a reality, but “we made it because life is short, the time was right, and we loved what the area had to offer for families in such a chaotic world,” says Lauren.
The second year into living in Quechee full time and Lauren says her family really enjoys meeting new people and spending active time with each other. “You will often see us at the pool, on the tennis courts or the ski hill.”
What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
Lauren: I like to dip my chicken nuggets into my mashed potatoes.
Joel: As a child, I used to eat peanut butter and bologna sandwiches.
Owen: I like to dip my pretzels into applesauce.
Charleigh: I like mashed potato pizza!
Linda: I like to add an egg on my hamburger.
What is your favorite way to spend a snowy day in Quechee?
Lauren: Sitting by the fire watching the kids ski by my mom’s house after a morning of skiing on the Quechee Ski Hill.
Joel: Skiing or fat biking
Owen: Snowboarding on the Quechee Ski Hill
Charleigh: Skiing with my friends and sharing candy on the ski lift
Linda: Sitting by the fire watching the kids ski by and snowshoeing the golf course

Lauren: The new Ransome Tavern at the Kedron Valley Inn
