This film special will feature a discussion with directors Ricki Stern ’87 and Annie Sundberg ’90, Senator Wendy Davis and Dr. Colleen McNicholas.
This Friday, the Upper Valley will have the opportunity to see the documentary, Reversing Roe, at The Hopkins Center for the Arts. This powerful documentary is directed by two Dartmouth alums - Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg. Part of what makes this opportunity so unique, is the fact that they will be returning to present their documentary.
After the documentary, which covers the 50-year debate over reproductive rights, there will be a discussion with directors Stern and Sundberg, Dr. Colleen McNicholas and Senator Wendy Davis. The documentary itself will cover a wide range of viewpoints from both sides of the debate. The film is a comprehensive record of this ongoing battle and the people that have fought for safe healthcare for all women.
One of the advocates featured in the film is Senator Wendy Davis from Texas. She has made national headlines for her efforts in supporting women's healthcare and has been the recipient of several awards throughout her career. Including the "Bold Woman Award" from Girls, Inc., "Rookie of the Year" from Texas Monthly, and "Texas Women's Health Champion Award" from the Texas Association of OB-GYNs.
