Norwich Family skate day on the Green
The annual Family Skating party was held January 18 on the Norwich Green. The event which has been on going for over two decades is sponsored by the Marion Cross School, PTO and the Recreation Council.
Please enjoy the photos and story. I have inserted links at the end of this story to previous stories that will show the effort that goes into making this day possible. There are also many volunteers to thank. They are listed in the stories as well.
A view from the Gazebo
A lot of fun and "maybe" some support from the milk carton
And one goes down with probably more to follow
The skating moms
The Norwich farm Creamery was on hand with their donation of hot cocoa.
Cocoa with a Cop!
And now for a second cup
Volunteers stoking the fire
Even a pooch came to check out the fun
A beautiful day on the Green
Warming up with a nice cup of cocoa
They are ready to join in on the fun
Everyone is enjoying the goodies that were provided by the many parents. The Marion Cross PTO did an excellent job of recruiting the volunteers.
Still smiling, must have been a fun day

See links below to previous stories showing the efforts of the volunteers who work very hard all season long. I have tried to list all them and hope I didn't miss any. Special thanks to Jill Kearney, Kristen Close and her volunteers, the Norwich DPW, and Fire department for their resources and efforts, and to the many residents and organizations.
And soon it will be a Skating Rink again: (See how it is built);
