Tom Ebert, from USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, will talk about recommended control practices and federal assistance programs available to landowners. A discussion panel will share their local experience with Knotweed control. Knotweed is an aggressive invasive plant species that is becoming more widespread in the northeast. Because it spreads vegetatively, it is very difficult to control. Doug Cygan, from the NH Department of Agriculture, will give a presentation on the ecology of knotweed and the mechanical, cultural, biological, and chemical control methods described in his recent Best Management Practices publication.
