Slow down, Your moving too fast. (includes You Tube video ) Sgt Jennifer Frank teaching safety on the hillside to local youths

Is that a radar gun?

A real nice fun way to test out that old radar gun (Gotta make sure it is accurate)

There was no School in Norwich on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. I am sure that changed plans for many parents and some kids.  It was a very pretty snow-storm that dumped a few inches of heavy wet snow in the Upper valley.

There were probably many ways to spend the day but these kids had a special treat. They got to slide right into a speed trap of fun and learn about safety on the hillside at the same time.

Check out the photos and see for yourself and then you be the judge.  Were they speeding or were they just having fun?

"A radar speed gun, also known as a radar gun, is a device used to measure the speed of moving objects. It is used in law-enforcement to measure the speed of moving vehicles"…..or on a snow day off from school, to measure the speed of Norwich youth on sleds 😊For those inquiring minds… the maximum speed obtained was 17 mph by young Mr. Ben – No ticket issued 😊

No speeders here. Everyone was within the 25 MPH speed limit for this area.

I thought it would be cool to add in an appropriate song for this story so I added the you tube video of the song "Slow down you are moving too fast" by  Paul Simon.   Watch the video if you wish and then enjoy the story and photos.

Songwriters: Paul Simon
59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) lyrics © Universal Music Publishing Group

Here are the Lyrics:

Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobblestones
Looking for fun and feeling groovy
Ba da-da da-da da-da, feeling groovy
Hello lamppost, what'cha knowing
I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't you got no rhymes for me?
Doo-ait-n-doo-doo, feeling groovy
Ba da-da da-da da-da, feeling groovy
I got no deeds to do, no promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life, I love you, all is groovy

    And now the photo's

the radar gun works just fine

Here they come! First one out ,and about to come down the hill

Could this be the one going 17 miles an hour?

Here comes another one ( Gotcha!) at 12 miles an hour

I  have two in my sights this time

   Perfect conditions for Sledding!

you stay right there until I clock you in

No speeders here. Everyone was within the 25 MPH speed limit for this area.
A perfect weather day to have some fun and now it is time for some Hot Chocolate, or maybe a Coco Moco.
