International Peace Advocate to Speak on the Growing Dangers of Nuclear War.
In the wake of the Post-Cold War period, there are growing dangers of nuclear war confronting humanity. Why is this so, who are the protagonists, and what can be done to reduce the danger? International peace advocate Dr. Joseph Gerson will address these questions and report on how the Trump administration’s foreign and military policy is perceived in Europe and Asia. He will be speaking at the Hanover Friends Meeting House, 43 Lebanon St. in Hanover, NH on Thursday, Jan 17 at 7:00 PM. Discussion follows. Joseph Gerson is Executive Director of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security and Director of the American Friends Service Committee’s Peace & Economic Security Program. He serves as Vice-President of the International Peace Bureau, co-convenes the Peace & Planet international network and is a member of the No to NATO/No to War steering committee. He is recently returned from the World Conference against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs in Hiroshima and a speaking tour in Australia. He is the author of several books and articles on US military policy and nuclear weapons.
