Take a moment to say thanks

January 9, 2019 will be just another day in the life of many people who are busy getting through the day and waiting for the next day to begin so they can do it all over again.

January 9, 2019 has also been designated as National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Please take a moment to acknowledge the difficult job our Police officers do every day to keep us safe, and the great job of community policing. Please see letter from Chief Robinson and there are several photos in this story.  Photo credit for some photos and cover photo goes to Norwich PD and Sgt Jennifer Frank, and others were taken by me.

Subject: NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION DAY

WEDNESDAY January 9, 2019 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day for their communities, they have answered a call to public service that is demanding and often unappreciated. On National Law Enforcement Day, we have an opportunity to thank them for their service and offer a token of respect.

If you have a police officer as a friend or family member, you know how difficult this job can be at times. So, it’s important to show officers how much we understand their difficult work and appreciate their sacrifice and risk.   And National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9 is the perfect opportunity to do this.

It’s easy to forget about the work the officers do if you don’t have regular interactions with them. But part of the reason you don’t have to interact with officers is because they’re doing their job of keeping your neighborhood safe from crime.

Take the time to say thanks to a police officer, send a note of thanks to let them know you care and support them.

Thank You / Stay Safe

Doug
