Lebanon woman charged with pair of assaults in Vermont

WEST FAIRLEE, VT - A Lebanon, New Hampshire woman is facing charges of domestic assault and simple assault following an incident early Thursday evening in West Fairlee.

    Vermont State Police said that Megan Descoteau, 27, contacted them and reported that she had attempted to leave a residence on Roberts Road when her cell phone and wallet were withheld from her.

    State troopers responded along with a Thetford police officer and, after what Trooper Justin Thompson described as a "complete investigation," determined that "Descoteau had assaulted a romantic partner as well as another person."

    Descoteau was arrested and then later released on conditions with a citation to appear at the Orange County Courthouse in Chelsea on the morning of January 9th to answer the charges.
