According to a press release from the Claremont Police Department, the men yelled at the worker and said they were looking for another male, whom they identified by name.

The males then left the area, but the restaurant worker was able to provide the responding officers with a description of the vehicle.

Moments later, the police received a report of 4-5 gunshots in the vicinity of that restaurant.  Patrol officers responded to that neighborhood, but were unable to locate any activity related to that report.

Within one minute of that call, the Claremont Police Department received multiple reports of shots fired at locations on Chestnut Street.  During the course of the investigation, police officers found at least two separate addresses on Chestnut Street where bullets had struck different homes.

A short time later a pickup truck, similar in description to the one given by the restaurant worker, was stopped on Unity Road in Newport by a New Hampshire state trooper for an unrelated motor vehicle infraction.

During the course of that traffic stop, trooper aided by Newport police officers determined that the occupants were involved in the shooting incidents in the City of Claremont.

The operator of the truck was identified as Brandon Teeter, 18, of Newport, New Hampshire and the passengers were identified as Matthew Barry, 24, of Charlestown and Tyler Barry 26, of Newport.

Teeter was subsequently arrested and has been charged with driving under the influence and conspiracy to commit first degree assault.

Matthew Barry has been charged with conspiracy to commit first degree assault.

Tyler Barry has been charged with reckless conduct, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit first degree assault.

All three defendants are being held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections pending their arraignment in the Sullivan Superior Court.

Since the initial response, the police department has executed multiple search warrants and has recovered evidence related to the shootings.  This case remains active and under investigation, and further charges are anticipated.
