Northbound Interstate 91 lanes in Norwich closed on Christmas Eve due to crash
NORWICH - A two-car crash shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 91 through Norwich shortly after 5 p.m. in order to allow Norwich firefighters to extricate patients from one of the vehicles.
That stretch of interstate was being reopened around 5:45 p.m. after a wrecker had a chance to remove one of the vehicles from the roadway.
Initial reports were that up to three people, including a pediatric patient, had been injured and were transported to DHMC by Hanover Ambulance. None of their injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
Further to the west on Interstate 89 near Mile Marker 30 snow was beginning to fall late Monday afternoon and several vehicle slide-offs were being reported.
