Social Security Phone Scam
Never Give Out your Personal Info over the Phone
The Lebanon Police Department is reporting that it has received multiple reports of a scam phone call that is targeting Lebanon citizens who are on Social Security. The person on the phone is informing people that their Social Security assets and accounts will be immediately frozen unless they provide personal and financial information.
“We are reminding people that the Social Security Office would contact you in writing if there was a problem with your account,” said Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello. “Never give out personal or financial information over the phone.”
