White River Junction woman killed in crash with box truck
SHARON - A collision Tuesday morning between a box truck and a car on Route 14 just over the town line from Hartford claimed the life of a White River Junction woman who was the passenger in her mother's car.
Alisha Boice, 25, died shortly after her arrival at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash which took place just before 7 a.m. near the intersection of Route 14 and Sharhart Road.
Vermont State Police said that a 2005 Toyota Matrix driven by Janice Boice, 56, of White River Junction sustained impact damage to the front end and the front passenger-side door while a 2009 International box truck being driven by Timothy Smajla, 36, of Stratford, Connecticut sustained impact damage to its front end and right side.
The Sharon and Hartford fire departments responded to the scene.
The accident, which took place amidst poor road conditions due to falling snow and sleet, remains under investigation by the state police.
