Worth Knowing: Learn how to upcycle your old coat or get a new used one with the Woodstock Coat Swap

Submitted a month ago

This year the North Chapel “Strengthening Families, Building Community” Initiative will be joining forces with the Woodstock Union High School’s Class of 2021 and Soulfully Good Cafe to collect coats and other winter wear. The goal is to distribute coats throughout the direct community first and then on to agencies like Silent Warriors, The Haven and Listen. Coats and winter wear will be distributed through schools and housing authorities but also through a number of “FREE SHOPS” in and around Woodstock (“Free Shop” locations include Soulfully Good and North Chapel). People are encouraged to pick up a new(ish) coat this year for themselves and/or their children!

Please join this initiative and help reduce, reuse, recycle and keep as many coats out of the landfill as possible. Collections accepted through November 30th and shopping available through December 7th.

Resources are tight for many so instead of shelling out funds for a new coat, pick up a free one and use your money elsewhere… pay bills, buy food or spoil your family to a dinner out – whatever you like! Pick up a coat at Soulfully Good and get a FREE Drip Coffee as well! Woo Hoo!

If you have a coat or other winter wear to donate, you are welcome to drop off at the North Chapel, Soulfully Good, Norman Williams Public Library or the Woodstock Union Middle School and High School now!! Free Shops ARE OPEN!! Come in and SHOP for Free!!!
