It's that time of year when we hold our loved ones a little closer and we appreciate our blessings a little more. It's a great time of year to find ways to brighten the lives of other community members. Here are some ideas to help you to give back this season!

  1. Decorate and donate a Gingerbread House to benefit The Family Place. The 16th Annual Gingerbread Festival will take place on December 1, 2018. You can find more details on how to enter a gingerbread house HERE. You can also make a donation HERE.
  2. Send your extra Christmas Cards to Veterans and soldiers. This is an easy and affordable way to brighten the holiday season for our service men and women. Being away from home can be tough and a simple thank you can go a long way.
  3. Organize a Food Drive for The Haven or donate extra food items from your own pantry to the organization. Leave plastic bags on your neighbors' door steps with a note explaining why you're collecting food and a time frame of when you'll return to collect the bags of food. Then drop off your goods at The Haven.
  4. Pack a shoebox full of goodies for Operation Christmas Child. Fill a shoebox full of special trinkets for a child in need and drop it off at a local center.

If you know of any other local organizations that could use assistance or donations this holiday season, please let us know about them in the comment section below!
