Worth Knowing: Two great suppers this weekend on Saturday, October 27
Winter is coming. You can see it in the browning leaves and feel it with the nip in the air. What better way to prepare yourself for the cold nights ahead than by going to a delicious community supper and digging into warm food? You may want to consider making a reservation to attend one of two suppers featuring feathered friends this weekend. Both have received very favorable recommendations.
Chicken Pie in Hanover Center: The annual Hanover Center Chicken Pie Supper is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th. Seatings are at 5, 6, and 7 pm. Reservations are recommended and may be made with Elaine Hawthorne at 603-643-2988 or email@example.com. Prices are $12 for ages 13-adult, $10 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and under. Go enjoy a friendly community gathering with great food and music with Gary Hubbard and friends - a warm spot on a cool autumn evening. Proceeds will support the First Congregational Church of Hanover in Hanover Center.
Turkey Supper in Hartland: Billed as "the last supper," there will be a huge roast turkey dinner spread at the First Universalist Church in Hartland. In addition to turkey, there will be homemade stuffing, gravy, squash, mashed potatoes, rolls, pickles, cranberry sauce, coleslaw and homemade pies. And a Silent Auction. You can make your bid at the dinner. Serving from 4:30 - 6 PM. Admission for adults $12; children 6-12 $6. First Universalist Church8 Brownsville Road, Hartland, VT 05048.
