Shambhala Meditation Center of White River

A Series of 4 Open House Talks, Tuesdays 10/9 thru 10/30 6:45 - 8 pm. (Come at 5:30 for open sitting, or just come for the talk).

The Buddhist teachings present us with practices that we can do in periods of divisiveness. These teachings are from a cycle known as “lojong “which dates from 900 C.E. In these practices, we can use our difficulties and problems (both personal and global) to awaken our hearts.

Each talk is by a different teacher and is based on a single Lojong Slogan. To learn more about "Lojong" check out Chogyam Trungpa's Training the Mind or Traleg Kyabgon's The Practice of Lojong.

10/30 - Talk by Ryan Harvey

Slogan: "Of the two witnesses, hold the principle one."
This slogan is about aloneness and confidence. Aloneness in that we travel the spiritual/human path alone and confidence regarding one's own innate wisdom. Although, we rely on judgement and feedback from others only we know our heart and mind intimately. This is the witness we must have confidence in.
