The non-profit Upper Valley Snow Sports Foundation purchased Whaleback from its former owner in 2013. Its mission is to "support and enhance an affordable, healthy and sustainable snow sports experience" in the Upper Valley. And what better way to support this community asset than contributing some of your sweat equity to get the slopes and the facility ready for winter?

So come to Whaleback Mountain on October 20 between 10:00 am and 3 pm. Volunteers can help prep the mountain get ready by doing things like painting, train work, weed whacking and trimming trees. Volunteers are being asked to bring their own equipment - especially weed whackers.
