The program at the event said the following about Ms. French, emailed school principal Bill Hammond:
Becky is a highly effective teacher who takes students where they are and develops teaching strategies to encourage as much growth as she can in each student. Students enter fourth grade with a variety of academic and  personal backgrounds, but Becky creates an atmosphere in class that is both rigorous and flexible. Whether students are presenting their historical figure during a Biography Tea, or gathered in a circle for a meeting with classmates, Becky has outlined clear expectations for both academic and behavioral success. Along with her high expectations, Becky injects humor into her lessons and offers her students appropriate autonomy. This balance helps lay a wonderful foundation for students’ success in her class.
