Second Wind Foundation: Upper Valley Turning Point
Round up at the register and
donate to Upper Valley Turning Point, a recovery community center offered by
the Second Wind Foundation, this October at Upper Valley Food Co-op! Learn more
about Second Wind Foundation and their mission below:
Our mission is to advance recovery from addiction & addictive behavior. We offer recovery support services, education, & advocacy for social, cultural & healthcare parity with other illnesses. Our focus is on peer support, due to its effectiveness, affordability & sustainability. Our efforts are inclusive. We support a variety of recovery services by filling the gaps among existing programs, while also providing our own. We seek to foster an environment in which people with addictive illness are accepted, treated & supported as any other patient, whether in a hospital, workplace, neighborhood or home.
We believe that the Upper Valley Turning Point’s peer-recovery model is heavily influenced by sustainability, providing education & resources to the community free of charge. Both [Upper Valley Food Co-op and Upper Valley Turning Point] understand the importance of a strong community, seeking to provide a safe space for guests to connect & thrive.

For those that are unaware, Common Cents is a community contribution program that allows customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, and the difference benefits community-supportive organizations whose missions align with the Co-op's! Twenty-five percent of donations go to the Upper Valley Haven, 25% go to the Vermont Foodbank, and 50% go to our feature organization.
We have opted to not ask customers if they would like to round up, so please, if you'd like to participate, remember to tell your cashier that you’d like to round up your purchase total in order to donate! Thanks to all who have contributed so far!
If your organization would like to be considered as a beneficiary, please email Sue at email@example.com, or apply online at: http://uppervalleyfood.coop/common-cents/application/
