Community Forum, October 2nd, 5:30 to 7:00pm, Marion Cross School (Multipurpose Room)
Visioning Norwich’s Future through the lens of VT’s new Marijuana Law
The purpose of this forum is to bring together residents, town officials, and other professional sectors (i.e public health professionals, regional planners, school representatives, employers, law enforcement, etc.) to:
·        Form a vision around the “Niche of Norwich”
·        Engage in dialogue specific to what the town wants / needs given VT’s new Law, Act 86 ~ Enhanced decriminalization of Marijuana.
·        Consider options for the future if VT legislation adopts commercial / retail market for Marijuana
The discussion will be facilitated by partners from the Mt. Ascutney Prevention Partnership and the Two Rivers Ottauquechee Regional Commission.
We hope you can join in the conversation and feel free to bring friends/neighbors/colleagues.
Light refreshments and childcare will be provided. Please plan to arrive at 5:15 to settle in, gather snacks, and settle children, etc. so meeting can begin promptly at 5:30.
For planning purposes and to anticipate childcare needs, please RSVP to melanie.sheehan@mahhc.org by close of business on Friday Sept. 28th, 2018.

In July, the Selectboard has briefly discussed an ordinance that would ban the “sale or distribution of Marijuana [and] Marijuana-infused products,” but took no action. See UPDATE: Marijuana Ordinance.
