Fall is the perfect time to take a road trip in Vermont or New Hampshire. The drives alone are breathtaking, but the destinations offer some fantastic rewards, too. Continue reading to discover my favorite fall towns around New Hampshire and Vermont.

Stowe, VT - Stowe in the fall is magical. The drive into town in stunning, the hills are colorful, the town is quaint and the hikes offer unparalleled views. Take a gondola ride at Stowe Resort, hike Moss Glen Falls or explore Smuggler's Notch.

Woodstock, VT - This town is a personal favorite. Covered bridges, lovely hikes, delicious food and the most quintessential New England town you could imagine will be waiting for you in Woodstock. Hike Mt. Tom or visit Billings Farm & Museum while you're in town.

Grafton, VT - This town in southern Vermont offers art, culture, history and vivid fall colors. Be sure to stay in the historic Grafton Inn if you can!

Peacham, VT - Gorgeous hills, a perfect white church and more await you in Peacham.

North Conway, NH - Explore the White Mountains, hike through Franconia Notch, ride the scenic Cog Railway on Mt. Washington and soak up the beautiful views.

Portsmouth, NH - Visit Strawbery Banke and attend their annual Fall Festival. Stroll through Prescott Park and enjoy fall along the seacoast.
