Worth Knowing: DHMC ranked best regional hospital in NH
U.S. News & World Report ranked Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as the # 1 Regional Hospital in the State of New Hampshire in its 2018-2019 rankings. In those rankings released last month, DHMC's Gynecology specialty was ranked at # 47 nationally. To be nationally ranked in a specialty, a hospital must excel in caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients. In addition, DHMC's Cancer, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Nephrology, Orthopedics, and Urology specialties received high performing recognition.

U.S. News & World Report estimates that nearly 2 million hospital inpatients a year face the prospect of surgery or special care that poses either unusual technical challenges or significantly heightened risk of death or harm because of age, physical condition or existing conditions.
