Worth Knowing: Still time to eat outside at Chef Brad's Crazyside

We've still go great weather in front us so don't miss an opportunity to sit outside at Chef Brad's Crazyside in Quechee and enjoy his delicious creations before he moves inside. The hands down best seller is the Asian BBQ Pulled Pork served with french fries and coconut curry slaw. People also love the various fish items cooked up by Chef Brad - seared salmon sandwich, crab cake salad, fish and chips, and shrimp or haddock tacos. The fish is fresh and trucked in from Boston. There was a swordfish sandwich special when I stopped by, as well as a short rib or portobello and roasted poblano sandwich, chicken burrito and corn chowder. If you weren't drooling yet, please know that there's also sweet potato fries and onion rings. 

If you manage to save room for dessert, go to the bright blue fridge and select chocolate, strawberry, lemon or carrot cake cupcakes or panna cotta (white chocolate mousse with chocolate ganache). If there's a line at the truck, just put what you owe in the bucket. Chef Brad relies on the honor system for desserts.

Brad Pirkey is the chef and owner. He re-built his first food truck in Bridgewater in 2012 and opened for business there for 2 years. In August 2014, Pirkey moved his truck to Hartland and set up shop there for another 2 years before moving his colorful truck to One Main Street in Quechee in October 2017.

Pirkey's been open for lunch and dinner on Thursday - Sunday for much of the summer. It's been busy. It's not unusual for Pirkey to serve 100 people at lunch time, although there are only about 20 outdoor seats. Starting this week, Pirkey will only be open for lunch from 11:30-3 on Thursday through Sunday. At the end of October, Pirkey will move the whole operation inside to his Café right next
