The tradition continues: A 5k Run in memory of friend, coach, and colleague - Ed Kehoe - who lost his battle with brain cancer in August 2014 will take place on September 16, 2018.

The route will take you on Blackwater Road and part of the Rail Trail - a route where you would commonly see Ed running! You can help raise money for a great cause. There is a 3K Walk option as well if running is not your thing.
REGISTER NOW online until 12noon on Saturday, September 15th or arrive around 9:30 AM to complete the paper registration form in person before the race.
A majority of the proceeds fund the "Ed Kehoe Scholarship" - a scholarship that is awarded to graduating Mascoma Seniors. So far, three Mascoma students have been awarded the college scholarship. Proceeds also greatly benefit the Kehoe Children Educational Fund.

"I felt very honored to receive the Ed Kehoe Scholarship to help support my college education at the University of New England," said Sydney Thompson, a 2018 graduate of Mascoma Valley Regional High School. "After participating as a runner and volunteer at the race since 2014, I'll be missing this year's event while I'm at school but hope there is a great turnout."

Killian Dowd, another 2018 graduate of Mascoma Valley Regional High School shared this story:
"My experiences with Ed Kehoe were limited but very memorable. He ran a basketball camp that I attended while in middle school. Mr. Kehoe made sure to have a personal connection with all the kids there. He called me Rondo because of the Celtics shirt I wore on the first day. This stuck with me and when Mr. Kehoe first fell ill I was happy to have the opportunity to help someone who left such an impression on me. With the help of Steve Stebbins, I joined a couple of kids from the camp to go to Ed Kehoe’s house and helped with lawn work that he was unable to do at the time. However, he was still out there with us the whole time talking to us and making the experience a whole lot more fun with the jokes he was cracking, mostly at Steve’s expense. I was honored to receive the Ed Kehoe Scholarship towards my education at the University of New Hampshire and I’m proud to be attending my fifth Kehoe 5K run this weekend and hope lots of people come out to raise money for a great cause and to celebrate an even better man."
