Hiking El Camino, 500 Miles Across Spain
Presentation by Clara Gimenez and Laura Foley
Tuesday, Sept 18, 6:00 p.m. at NWPL
Slide Show, Camino-Inspired Poems, and a Q & A for those at all interested in hiking all or a smaller portion of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This spring, Clara Gimenez (law professor, photographer) and Laura Foley (poet) hiked from France across Spain on a route called El Camino de Santiago, following yellow arrows over mountain paths, through Meseta plains and medieval cities. Overcoming physical, mental and spiritual challenges, they succeeded in their goal of reaching the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. And at the end, all they wanted was—to do it once again. They’d like to share their enthusiasm, insights, as well as practical advice in case you, too, are called…to Santiago. They will also offer a sample of Spanish tapas and wine.
