Worthy Knowing: Mechanic Street road construction almost done!
If you are sick and tired of the backups on Mechanic Street in Lebanon, take heart. Christina Hall, Lebanon's City Engineer, advises that this project is nearly done - at least for this year. The base paving layer is down on Mechanic Street. Today the contractor will be working on driveways and sidewalks from roughly Steve's Pet Shoppe to NAPA Auto Parts at the very top of Mechanic Street. If there's time, the contractor may put another inch of asphalt on the sidewalks to make it flush, but that hasn't been decided.
There is still work to be done on Mascoma and High Streets this summer, but that shouldn't create significant impacts on Mechanic Street.
So the end is in sight!
