Worth Knowing: Canoe Club closes in Hanover
The Valley News reported last night that the Canoe Club in Hanover has closed due to delivery and access issues relating to a construction project behind the building. Requests sent to the owners for confirmation of the Valley News report and for further details have been unanswered as yet. The sign in the window, unfortunately, confirms it all.
The Canoe Club restaurant was opened in Hanover by John Chapin in 2003. After 15 years, Chapin sold the Canoe Club to Curt Welling, Daniel Levitt, Daniella Reichstetter and Liam McCarthy. The new owners found a new chef, hired and trained new staff, re-did the menu and re-launched last May. More than 150 people attended the re-launch party.
