The Aidron Duckworth Art Museum is pleased to announce an evening of performance with multidisciplinary artist J. Turk. Drawing from the paintings in the current Aidron Duckworth exhibition TRANSPARENT BODIES, Turk has composed a new performance specifically for the museum. J. Turk's work draws on a range of sources from intimate, personal experiences to current gender, feminist, and art historical theory. Resonant and poignant, CONVERSATIONS WITH AIDRON regards themes in the Duckworth canon with fresh eyes, quite likely from a view the artist himself only intuited. This performance does address adult subject matter and uses language that may not be suitable for children.
J. Turk is a queer artist from Bethel, Vermont working in a number of media including poetry, sculpture, book arts, installation, and performance. The piece CONVERSATIONS WITH AIDRON will be performed one night only, Saturday September 8, 8pm-9pm. The museum will open at 7pm for refreshments and to view the two shows currently exhibited in the galleries by Aidron Duckworth and Guest Artist, Galen Cheney. J. Turk will begin performing at 8pm.
