Hartford Community Coalition is a collaborative group of community members designed to support and promote the wellness of individuals and families. We want Hartford to be a supportive community where people embrace and achieve their personal, professional, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Take a Bite out of Hunger Program works to provide children who have limited access with a good lunch during the summer and provides lunches throughout the year to other adults in our community. It is central to HCC’s mission, and also the Co-ops mission, of contributing to a resilient and connected community. Access to healthy food is critical to children and adults in our town and the Take a Bite out of Hunger Program has harnessed a large network of businesses and individuals who donate time and money to make the program a success. This past summer is the programs 4th year and we look forward to continuing to fill this need in the Upper Valley Community. Stay up to date on HCC’s Take a Bite out of Hunger by following their Facebook page.

For those that are unaware, Common Cents is a community contribution program that allows customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, and the difference benefits community-supportive organizations whose missions align with the Co-op's! Twenty-five percent of donations go to the Upper Valley Haven, 25% go to the Vermont Foodbank, and 50% go to our feature organization.

We have opted to not ask customers if they would like to round up, so please, if you'd like to participate, remember to tell your cashier that you’d like to round up your purchase total in order to donate! Thanks to all who have contributed so far!
