SCORE has announced its 2018 Fall Workshop series sponsored by Mascoma
Bank on Thursday evenings from 5-8 p.m. beginning September 20 and running through
November 1, 2018. All workshops
are held at the SCORE Office & Learning Center in Lebanon, upstairs from
Citizen Bank and Salt Hill Pub.
These low-cost business training workshops and seminars are $30 per session and if you bring a partner: $45, while veterans can attend free. They are designed for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs. The venue provides networking with presenters, participants and SCORE mentors and in addition to learning new content and practices, the workshops also offer an opportunity to interact with other local small business owners and prospective business owners.

September 20, Start Your Own Business with Phelps Platt
This workshop covers the basic elements that one must consider in having your own business. A primer on developing and managing any small business, this key workshop provides critical materials and a step-by-step process for developing a workable approach to assessing and planning a new business. It also covers the wide array of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
September 27, Social Media & Internet Marketing with Gary Horsman
This workshop will give you an overview of the various marketing channels available on the internet – Blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest YouTube, LinkedIn and the strengths and weaknesses of each one as they apply to your marketing efforts.
October 4, Marketing, Planning, and Strategy with Sheldon Roesch
Marketing is the management process through which customer demand is created for goods and/or services. This workshop will allow participants to dip their toe in the waters of marketing strategy and planning so that they leave with an excellent sense for the questions they need to answer as they set a successful path for their business
October 11, Business Bookkeeping with Ann Hargrave and Susan Davidson
This “Accounting 101” overview gets you started with understanding the basic accounting concepts. This workshop will teach you a straightforward way to keep “score” with respect to the financial performance and condition of your business. You will learn the fundamentals of financial statements, how they are prepared, and how they help you plan for the future.
October 18, Effective Cash Flow Management with Morris McInnes
In business cash is king - run out of it and game over. This workshop explains how to manage your business from a cash flow perspective. You will become familiar with, and how to use, important concepts such as working capital, inventory, receivables and payables turnover, debt capacity, and other financial metrics. Consideration will also be given to the legal structure of your business, and how it may affect taxes and cash flow.
October 25, Quick Books – (Online Version) with Will Hepworth
This workshop focuses on using the online version of QuickBooks financial software to help you plan and run your business. Example are shown and discussed, though there is no need to bring a laptop to this workshop
November 1, Radio Marketing with Richard Reece and Robert Sherman
The Millennial Myth: Or how to use Mobile Marketing and Reach more Millennials; yes radio. This workshop will delve into all aspects of Radio Marketing including how to create a radio commercial. Find out how to dismiss the myth of reaching Millennials only with mobile media by using radio.
