Police blotter: Burglary, fight and car taken in Springfield
Springfield police charged Samuel Colby, 36, of Springfield with burglary into an occupied dwelling on Thursday night.
Colby was released upon the posting of $5,000 bail and on the following conditions: Not to buy, have, or use regulated drugs without a valid prescription; defendant must contact a licensed drug/alcohol counselor and take the first appointment available, subsequently following that counselor’s recommendations. Colby was further prohibited from harassing or abusing the victim of the burglary attempt in any way.
Women arrested for fighting
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Two women have been charged with fighting after an incident that took place in the Springfield Plaza on Aug. 10. Springfield police responded to a complaint and arrested two women for allegedly fighting. Arieanna Quinlan and Courtney Griffin each alleged that the other started the fight.
The women were both cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Oct. 10 to answer to charges of Disorderly Conduct.
Woman charged with taking car without consent
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield police report that on Aug. 12, Tina Guerrero was charged with taking a car without the owner’s consent. A resident called to say that in the early morning hours he was awoken by the defendant at his residence. He told police he asked her to leave, and that she got into his truck and drove off without permission to do so. The vehicle was later located in her possession and returned to the rightful owner.
Guerrero was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Oct. 9 to answer to the alleged charge of operating without owner’s consent.
