What's Your Favorite Appetizer to Order in the Upper Valley?
Hors d'oeuvres. Tapas. Antipasti. Appetizers!
Saying "yes, yes, I think I will" to that little-meal-before-the-meal is either the best way to ruin your appetite or the only way to do it right when you decide to go out.
Some restaurants—maybe even most—in the Upper Valley have an appetizer or two on the menu that has reached a kind of cult status with the dining public—something so singularly good that it threatens to outshine your choices for main course.
Help us gather up the best of the best appetizers in the region, won't you? Tell us in the comments what starter you'll always order, and where to find it.
I know what mine is. I always order this on the, honestly, rare occasion my wallet allows for so nice a dine-out. It's on the menu year-round, and it doesn't matter what else I order, as long as a piping-hot serving of this lands in front of me first.
I'm speaking, of course, of the Vermont Cheddar Soup at Simon Pearce Restaurant in Quechee. Raise your hand if you know what I'm talking about.
