Buhha, Jung and Spria
"This was the best Osher class I have taken in all the years I have taken classes. Patricia was so knowledgeable about the subject. Her enthusiasm and contact with the class was superb!"
"Patricia knew her subject and spent the whole 2 hours giving information - no wasted moment."
Patricia Cashman is back to lead a course for OSHER@Dartmouth on "Beyond Bliss: Buhha, Jung and Spria" on Thursdays, September 27 - November 1 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the DOC House in Hanover, NH. Call 603-646-0154 to register or go online.
Is seeking to be free from suffering actually a hindrance to the happiness we seek? We will discuss the basic themes in Buddhism, Jungian Psychology, and Adaita philosophy, looking for common threads and understanding. Our goal is to experience these teachings in a more subjective way, rather than only intellectually. With a slight shift in perspective, perhaps new meanings of who we think we are will be revealed. A brief meditation and a lecture will be presented each week, along with a short reading or video. Optional assignments for homework will be offered for those who wish more in-depth work. Keeping a personal journal during the course is highly recommended.
Patricia Cashman has been intrigued with psychology, mythology, and eastern philosophy for over 30 years. She has a M.A. in Holistic Counseling from Salve Regina University. She writes cathartic poetry and her love of teaching is palpable. Patricia lives in VT with a cat named Artemis Pumpkin.
