Mr. G remembrances update: photos still needed, ice cream fundraiser
Laura Osborn has received 60 photos of Mr G. from five people, and they're great, but she's still hoping for more as she prepares a display for the gathering in his memory at Huntley Meadow Saturday.
She needs them Thursday at the latest. You can email them at the highest resolution you've got to email@example.com. If you have prints or negatives, email her to see if you can work out a handoff.
One of the photos she's received is at the top of this post, and here's another:

Meanwhile, Dan Fraser posted to the Norwich list this morning with word of an ice cream fundraiser at Dan & Whit's on Saturday, the day of services for Mr. G.
"We will donate 100% of all ice cream cones sales to The John F. Girard fund at The Norwich Rec Dept," Fraser wrote, adding: "ALL MONEY RAISED ON SATURDAY WILL BE MATCHED BY A VERY GENEROUS NORWICH COUPLE WHO THOUGHT THE WORLD OF MR. GIRARD."
Ice cream hours Saturday run from noon to 8:30. It's Hood ice cream, Fraser said; you've got your choice of chocolate, vanilla or twist. Money contributed to the fund will support the participation of Norwich kids in town recreation programs.
Finally, Fraser dropped this intriguing hint. "Please bring a jar of peanut butter or jelly or a box of crackers to Girard Field ceremony," he wrote. "It will all makes sense once you are there, trust me."
